Thaw (January 31, 2010) Ice falls from tree limbs, explosions of glass on the sidewalks, shattering crystal in the streets. Glistening shards turn into puddles, and diamonds drip down melting icicles. Steam rises from the ground as each tree groans and snaps and strains to shed her fragile shawl. Ice and snow become pools, a promise in the thaw. Isaiah 55:10-11, "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth, and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So shall my word be which goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it."
